As you enter beneath the magnificent arched glass roof of London St. Pancras International station your holiday to Vienna & Salzburg begins.
You may have time to wander among the smart shops and relax with a coffee in the departure lounge before you travel in your Standard Premier Class (Eurostar’s 1st Class) seat on board the Eurostar high-speed service.
Relax with a drink and light meal as you pass under the English Channel before arriving at Brussels Midi station, where you change trains for the comfortable ICE service onwards to Frankfurt. Sometimes nicknamed ‘Mainhattan’, this dynamic city boasts a superb contrast of dizzying skyscrapers and medieval, timber-framed houses.
On arrival in vibrant Frankfurt head for your overnight hotel, the comfortable Adina Apartments Frankfurt Neue Oper (4 star), located close to the station. Stretch your legs this evening and maybe find a nice restaurant for dinner.
This morning after breakfast you may have time for a whistle-stop tour of Frankfurt am Main.
Then make your way back to the station to board the ICE service as you travel south east through Germany and into Austria and the wonderful capital city of Vienna.

You have two full days to explore Vienna’s great history and culture by visiting some of Europe’s finest palaces, churches and museums.
These include the Hofburg Palace which provides an authentic view of the daily life of what was once the centre of a powerful Hapsburg dynasty, the majestic Belvedere Palace (pictured) with its extensive collection of works by Gustav Klimt and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, one of the most recognisable churches in Austria’s capital with its stunning colourful roof.
You might also like to discover more of the city by taking a tram along the ‘Ringstrasse’, which is lined with fascinating grandiose buildings.
Vienna also boasts a wealth of traditional coffee houses where you can sit and watch the world go by before a trip further afield to the evocative Rococo style Schönbrunn Palace, one of the most popular attractions in Vienna.
Today after breakfast make your way to Vienna station to board the high-speed Railjet service to Salzburg.
On arrival in this attractive city head to your hotel for 3 nights, the welcoming Imlauer Hotel Pitter (4 star), located in the heart of the city which provided the setting for the Sound of Music.
This afternoon you have time to explore Salzburg, perhaps with a walk into the charming old town before choosing from a range of excellent restaurants for dinner.
You have two full days to discover the charms of Salzburg, perhaps with a stroll through the pretty Mirabell Gardens or a visit to Salzburg Cathedral and the magnificent palace of the former Prince-Archbishop.
You might like to take the funicular up to the Hohensalzburg Fortress for fantastic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. For a more relaxing option stay close to the River Salzach and call in at one of the local cafés for a coffee and a slice of the famous Sacher cake.
Salzburg also has a number of attractions related to perhaps its most famous son, Mozart and the city’s most well-known film, the Sound of Music.
Today after breakfast make your way back to the station where you board the comfortable Railjet service to the cosmopolitan Swiss city of Zurich.
It is a pleasant stroll across the Limmat River to the Hotel Helmhaus (4 star) for your overnight stay.
You may have time this evening to discover some of Zurich’s main attractions such as the Bahnhofstrasse and Old Town, home to quaint churches and burgher houses and stylish shops.
Venture further along the River Limmat to discover Zurich’s most impressive churches, the Grossmünster, Fraumünster – and St. Peterskirch (its clock face is the largest in Europe), before you reach the opening of Lake Zurich, from where you may take an evening lake cruise.
Savour your final morning before you make your way back to Zurich station to join the super-fast TGV service back to Paris.
Relax as you watch the mountainous scenery fade to picturesque French countryside before you arrive into Paris Gare de Lyon station.
Here your private taxi transfer will whisk you across Paris to the Gare du Nord for the last connection of your journey by Eurostar back to London.
