Your itinerary in Full

Day 1 – London to Colmar

Your journey begins at London St Pancras, where you board the Eurostar to Paris in Eurostar Plus, with light meal and drinks served on board. On arrival at Gare du Nord, take a short walk to Gare de l’Est to connect with your high-speed TGV to Colmar.

Travel through the picturesque Alsace region and arrive in Colmar — often called “Little Venice” for its pretty canals and colourful architecture. From the station, it’s a short walk or taxi ride to your 5-star hotel, La Maison des Têtes, a Relais & Châteaux property featuring the Michelin-starred Restaurant Girardin and the elegant Brasserie Historique.

Spend the day discovering the charm of Colmar, a beautifully preserved Alsatian town full of colour, canals and character. Stroll through cobbled streets lined with medieval and Renaissance buildings, explore the vibrant Little Venice district, and admire the 13th-century collegiate church.

You may wish to visit the renowned Unterlinden Museum, home to an impressive collection of Renaissance art, including the famous Isenheim Altarpiece by Grünewald. With its inviting cafés, boutique shops, and surrounding vineyards, Colmar offers an authentic taste of Alsace at its very best.

After breakfast, depart Colmar by train and travel via Basel and Bern into the heart of the Swiss Alps. Enjoy beautiful views as you journey through lakes, mountains, and the scenic Simmental Valley, arriving in the peaceful alpine village of Lenk early in the afternoon.

Check into the 5-star Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort, your home for the next two nights. Relax in your stylish room, explore the nearby meadows and woodland, or unwind in the hotel’s award-winning spa. This evening, enjoy a gourmet dinner at either Spettacolo or Oh de Vie, both offering exceptional cuisine in a serene mountain setting. The hotel’s driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to the hotel

Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace, with a choice of memorable alpine experiences. You might choose to visit Glacier 3000, where a scenic cable car ride leads to the thrilling Peak Walk by Tissot — the world’s only suspension bridge connecting two mountain peaks. Enjoy panoramic views of the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Jungfrau, or try glacier walking, dog sledding, or the exhilarating Alpine Coaster. Lunch options include mountain restaurants designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta.

Alternatively, spend the day exploring Bern, Switzerland’s charming capital. Wander cobbled streets, admire the Astronomical Clock, or climb the cathedral tower for sweeping views of the old town and the River Aare.

For something more tranquil, stay local and unwind in the 7 Sources Spa at your hotel. Surrounded by the peaceful Simmental Valley, relax in the pools and saunas, book a treatment, or simply take in the fresh mountain air. In the evening, dine at the hotel or enjoy a scenic dinner at the rustic Mountain Restaurant Bühlberg, with views from 1,664 metres.

Depart Lenk and begin one of the highlights of your journey — the breathtaking GoldenPass Line. Board the panoramic train in Zweisimmen and travel in comfort through the Bernese Oberland, passing alpine villages, lush valleys, and the renowned resorts of Château d’Oex and Gstaad.

Enjoy stunning views from the panoramic carriages or opt for VIP front-row seats for a driver’s-eye perspective. The route descends dramatically toward Lake Geneva, offering unforgettable views of the French Alps.

On arrival in Montreux, a short connection brings you to Vevey, where you check into the elegant 5-star Grand Hôtel du Lac, a Relais & Châteaux property overlooking the lake. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring Vevey’s charming old town.

Spend the day exploring Vevey and the stunning Lavaux region. Walk along the lakeside promenade, visit Château de Chillon or explore cultural gems like Chaplin’s World and Villa Le Lac.

Optional experiences include a Lake Geneva cruise, wine tasting in the vineyards of Puidoux-Chexbres, or scenic rides on the GoldenPass funicular and Ascenseur Plein Ciel for breathtaking alpine views.

Today you return to Vevey station and continue your journey to Lausanne to board the TGV to whisk you to Paris.

Watch the charming scenery flash past or reminisce on the gourmet and spa wonders of the past few days.

Once you arrive in the French capital, your private taxi transfer takes you to the Gare du Nord to connect with the Eurostar to London. Let the train take the strain as you stretch out and relax over a light (cold) meal and drinks in your Eurostar Plus seat as you return to St Pancras International.
