Day 1 – London to Montreux by First Class Rail

Your holiday begins at the beautifully restored London St. Pancras station, renowned for its impressive Victorian architecture.

Admire the magnificent glass roof before boarding the Eurostar to Paris. Then relax as the countryside passes by at speeds of up to 186mph.

During the journey, enjoy light refreshments and drinks served in Eurostar Plus service. Upon arrival at the Gare du Nord, a private taxi transfers you across Paris to the Gare de Lyon.

Next, continue by TGV through France and into Switzerland, travelling beside sparkling Lake Geneva to elegant Montreux.

Later, check into the belle époque Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic for your overnight stay. Ideally positioned beside the station, the hotel offers beautiful lake and mountain scenery.

Day 2 – Through the Swiss Alps to Venice by First Class rail

Begin your day in Montreux and make your way across to the station.

Next, you board the Euro City train as it snakes its way through picturesque scenery, past soaring mountain peaks, up the spectacular Rhône Valley into Italy.

You pass Milan and continue to Venice.

On arrival at Venezia Santa Lucia station walk out of the station and enter a different world.

Finally, your water taxi will transfer you in the best possible style to your chosen hotel for the next three nights.

Days 3 and 4 – Incomparable Venice


Step out in Venice and discover a city filled with timeless beauty, charm, and unforgettable experiences.

Enjoy Venice at dusk, when the daytime crowds disappear and the city feels wonderfully peaceful. From St. Mark’s Square to the Rialto Bridge, every corner invites exploration and discovery.

Meanwhile, a gondola ride along the Grand Canal offers a truly iconic Venetian experience. You can also visit the magnificent Doge’s Palace and uncover Venice’s remarkable history.

As you wander beside the canals, the city’s slower pace encourages complete relaxation and escape. In addition, Venice’s traffic-free alleyways and charming campi create a uniquely tranquil atmosphere.

Experience the city’s luminous beauty reflected across canals, lagoons, ornate bridges, and painted palazzi. Byzantine basilicas and historic architecture further enhance Venice’s unforgettable atmosphere.

Day 5 – Venice through to Switzerland aboard the Venice-Simplon-Orient Express


This morning, after breakfast, bid farewell to Venice as your water taxi crosses the peaceful lagoon.

Soon afterwards, arrive at Venice Santa Lucia station and board the iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Your steward will then escort you to your private cabin and provide attentive service throughout the journey.

After settling in, enjoy a sumptuous three-course lunch within the beautifully restored restaurant cars. Meanwhile, admire spectacular scenery as the train travels through the Italian Dolomites and Swiss Alps.

Alternatively, relax in the famous Bar Car and chat with fellow travellers over drinks and conversation. Later, afternoon tea is served in your compartment while the stunning landscapes continue to unfold.

As evening approaches, prepare for a memorable dining experience aboard this legendary luxury train. Perhaps enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail before savouring an exquisite four-course dinner prepared by skilled French chefs.

Day 6 – Arrival into Paris – Paris to London – Homeward bound

Firstly, breakfast is served in your cabin by your steward at a time to suit you. The train pulls into Paris Gare de l’Est where you disembark the Orient Express.

After a short transfer you leave Paris to head to London by First class rail. 

All too soon it is time to prepare to disembark as your train draws into London Victoria station and the final leg of your journey home.
